New Apartment Block - Rayleigh Road, Shenfield CM13
New build apartment block providing five luxury apartments, with car parking and amenities at the rear, and high-quality landscaping and gated entrance. Our client required the original house to be replaced with apartments in order for the scheme to be viable, however the planning department were strongly opposed to apartments as it would not match the style of the adjacent houses, and insisted instead on two new houses as a maximum. Rather than abandon the idea of apartments, we re-designed the building to give it the appearance of a house, which after a lot of hard work was ultimately granted planning permission on that basis. Humphreys and Sons produced the entire design, planning permission, building regulations, NHBC warranties, land decontamination scheme, specifications, public drain permissions, party wall agreements, utilities applications, and supervised the building works on site.
