Loft Conversion and Extension - Dryden Road, Wimbledon SW20

Our clients approached us with this property they had purchased, and their simple requirement was to absolutely maximise what could be achieved in terms of increasing floor area, and a complete renovation and “future-proofing”. The limits of planning permission were pushed in terms of a rear extension which also returned to infill the side yard, and a loft conversion with a large dormer covering the whole width of the main roof, which also extended back across the whole rear wing of the house. A huge amount of additional floor area was achieved, plus additional bedrooms and also the existing ground floor rooms were opened up into large open plan spaces, with a seamless transition from inside space to outside garden. The house was completely stripped back to a shell, repaired, new plumbing, heating and electrics installed, and completely re-finished and decorated from scratch. Our clients were delighted with their new “future-proofed” and “worry-free” home, which combined the perfect finish and reliability of a new build, with the character of a period home,

Client Testimonial

“Humphrey and Sons came highly recommended by a neighbour, and having met several other surveyors and architects, we felt most confident in their ability to meet our needs.

Robert’s team were extremely professional throughout the process from the very first meeting and very clear and honest in his communication. They were able to understand our vision for the project. We had regular meetings with them and they helped guide us through the planning process.

When the project became more complicated and we needed some underpinning, they were helpful and recommended a structural engineer who could assist us.

We highly recommend Humphreys and Sons and indeed have already recommended them to friends.”
